The Generals Senior Hockey Club was established in 1999 by Wes Gyori, Travis Stephenson, Scott Fraser, Jason Lenz and Brent Northcott who were five local men who grew up playing or watching the first Generals franchise in the old single A senior loop playing in the Chinook Hockey League.

Their goals were modest as they simply hoped to form a team to give local players a place to play after junior and keep the game in their lives at a competitive level. Soon sponsors, volunteers and fans were starting to gather around the team and a momentum was starting to be felt.

The Generals hockey club plays in the Chinook Hockey League,. The league currently consists of 5 AAA Senior Hockey teams all of which playoff for the provincial title to carry on to the Canadian national championship the Allan Cup.

The team plays out of the Barnett Arena in downtown Lacombe Alberta. Our mission is to represent the town of Lacombe and the surrounding area with a hockey club everyone can be proud of. Our goal is to help former College, University and Professional players play the game at the highest amateur level of hockey available. In doing so they are able to move into a life that involves work, family, and the game they love.
